A Message from the Superintendent

Picture
Dear USA Families,

At Utica Shale Academy, we’ve always started the school year right after Labor Day. It gives everyone one last great weekend to enjoy time with family before jumping into a new year of learning and growth. This year, we’ll open our doors on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back.

The 2025–2026 school year will bring exciting opportunities for our students. Our second welding facility will be ready, giving students more chances to gain hands-on experience and earn industry-recognized credentials. Inside this welding facility, students will now be able to work with the TIG process and pipe beveling equipment, expanding their skills for high-demand careers. We are also thrilled to introduce eight excavators to our heavy equipment program, made possible through the purchase of three additional acres for training. Pending student interest, we are exploring the addition of a 3D printing program to give students access to even more cutting-edge technology.

We’ve expanded skilled trades pathways, strengthened partnerships with local employers, and upgraded technology in classrooms and labs so that our students are working with the same tools they’ll encounter in the workforce. We’ve also continued investing in the support systems that help students thrive. Our Community Health Worker team is ready to assist with needs beyond academics, and our transportation improvements will make getting to school more reliable. These steps ensure that every student has the opportunity to focus on building skills, exploring career options, and planning for their future.

Most importantly, our staff is committed to helping each student succeed. Whether it’s mastering a trade, preparing for college, or finding a career pathway that matches their strengths and interests, we are here to guide and support every step of the way.

We look forward to a school year filled with achievement, personal growth, and the kind of successes that prepare students for life beyond the classroom. We’ll see you on September 2nd.

A Message from the Community Health Supervisor

Dear USA Families,

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I want to take a moment to share how the Community Health Worker team is here to support our students and families both inside and outside the classroom. At Utica Shale Academy, we understand that academic success often depends on having the right resources in place to meet everyday needs.

Our team works to connect students and families with vital community resources, including housing assistance, food support, mental health services, and more. We are also proud to provide direct access to essential items through our on-site resource bank, which offers diapers, period products, hygiene products, and other daily necessities. These supports are available to ensure that no student’s education is interrupted by challenges at home.

We believe that when basic needs are met, students can focus on learning, building skills, and planning for their futures with confidence. This year, we will continue building partnerships with local organizations, expanding our resources, and finding new ways to remove barriers so every student can thrive.

Whether you need help navigating community programs, finding emergency support, or simply need a listening ear, our door is always open. We are here to walk alongside our families every step of the way, ensuring that no one has to face challenges alone.

Here’s to a year of growth, resilience, and success—both in and out of the classroom!
